Cavagna Group’s fresh Propane Autogas Nozzle Accessories to modernize refueling
A fresh nozzle for fueling propane vehicles is being touted as being able to “brings autogas refueling into the modern age at the fuel pump.” Staubli‘s fresh Autogas Nozzle is suited for fresh installations, as well as being able to be retrofitted for existing autogas vehicles.
Developed by Cavagna Group, the nozzle accessories feature Euro Nozzle-Acme adaptors as well as the current ACME Nozzle-Euro Pack valves. Adapters permit the transition to happen inbetween the ACME nozzle and the fresh Euro Pack Nozzle and the old Acme pack valve that might be on the vehicle…
The Staubli nozzle is available from industry equipment distributors such as Superior Energy Systems, Bergquist Distributors, and others within the industry. Plans are for the distribution of the nozzle and accessory components are to begin this month. The Alliance AutoGas network will begin installing the fresh connector and using the fresh nozzle for all fresh autogas installations. According to the U.S. Department of Energy’s Alternative Fuels Data Center, there are Two,700 fueling stations in the U.S. alone, in addition to the Alliance’s four hundred sixty fleet locations.
Tucker Perkins, chief business development officer for the Propane Education & Research Council notes, “We want to budge forward promoting this [European] connection to industry customers, and that means getting manufacturers of connectors and adapters involved such as Cavagna Group, as well as the propane industry’s equipment distributors in the United States and Canada.”

In Milan fresh environmentally-friendly taxis for everybody
Milan is home to the very first versatile and environmentally-friendly taxi service, which is able to accommodate disabled passengers thanks to its low floor. This is the outcome of a partnership inbetween the Cavagna Group, Rolfi Special Trims and Citroen Italy.
Ponte San Marco, Brescia, Italy – July 29, two thousand fourteen – It is called the Citroen Berlingo Freespace For All and it is the very first multi-purpose, eco-friendly taxi that is able to accommodate disabled passengers thanks to its low floor.
Featuring a hybrid bi-fuel engine, this vehicle is the result of a partnership inbetween Rolfi, a company based in Brescia, which specializes in special trims for the disabile; Citroen, the renowned French carmaker; and the Cavagna Group, which provided the technology needed to power the car on LPG, leading to tangible benefits in terms of environmental influence and operating costs.
Both the innovative fuel tank and the fresh low floor of the Citroen Berlingo Freespace For All, has been designed to accomodate the technical features of the original chassis; this permits a ‘”special car” to be created that is actually very similar to a common vehicle for passenger transportation.
Indeed, it is a low-floor Freespace Berlingo that on the outside looks exactly like any vehicle from the series; however, thanks to the technical equipment with which the vehicle is fitted, it permits disabled people to board on a wheelchair in just a few seconds. What’s more, it can quickly comeback to its original 5-seat arrangement when there is not a disabled person on board. In this way, the taxi does not have to sacrifice any seats, which is a considerable advantage for both the taxi driver and for reliable municipal service in general.
The introduction of this fresh kind of taxi truly is a game-changer. Up to now, ecological taxis for people in wheelchairs have been created by adapting raised roofs and internal elevators to existing car models, with results that leave much to be desired: long boarding times for disabled people (which obviously leades to higher taxi fares), a general reduction in the taxi’s interior spaces and the idea that the taxi is exclusively for disabled people, due to the bulky and visible equipment that must be put to use.
Taxi service has already began up with this fresh vehicle in Milan, and as the Expo two thousand fifteen approaches, Milan’s City Council has issued a special notice to all taxi drivers in order to encourage the use to use of eco-friendly vehicles that can accommodate disabled passengers.
Davide Cavagna, the CEO of the Cavagna Group, has this to say about the Citroen Berlingo Freespace For All project: “We determined to come in into this partnership because of our Group’s commitment to the CRM activities, and in particolar to those activities that are able to improve people’s general well-being and, at the same time, protect the environment. No matter how you look at it, LPG remains an ideal choice as an alternative fuel even for taxi service.”

Cavagna Rolling Out Growth Initiatives
Cavagna Group (Brescia, Italy) comes back to Atlanta this month-not only with its iconic and race winning LPG-fueled Fiat five hundred Abarth that premiered last year- but with its just-introduced ENERKIT line, small-engine products enabling conversions from gasoline to LPG. The target market includes a broad range of applications, from yard trimmers and blowers, to walk-behind mowers and snow blowers. Extra applications include free-standing power generators and water pumps, railing mowers, and industrial vehicles.
ENERKIT is part of a thrust Cavagna is putting on “Greengear” products that include mowers, weed wackers, generators, water pumps, and pressure washers with engine ranges from 30cc to 250cc. Catalogs will be available at the Atlanta demonstrate this month, while the total product line is scheduled for introduction at the 27th World LP Gas Forum in Miami this October. “As an industry playmate we’re promoting the plasticity of fuel sources,” said Rich Darche, president of Cavagna North America. “Our industry, in order to boost gallon sales, needs to sell more products, and Cavagna is very focused on introducing propane-fueled alternatives.”
The roll-out of the ENERKIT line, the company comments, is the result of its Alternative Fuel System Division’s commitment to supporting the enhanced use of LPG, thereby promoting a healthier and greener way of life. By substituting the gasoline carburetor, ENERKIT enables engirres to lightly convertto LPG, suggesting the consumer the instantaneous benefits of proteering the environment and money savings. The conversion provides lower emissions and odor, diminished engirre maintenance, and greater convenience. ENERKIT’s clean connection to an LPG cylinder also eliminates spilled gasoline.
The line features a range of products in two categories, ENERKIT Basic and ENERKIT Plus. ENERKIT Basic is designed for dedicated two and four-stroke engirres from 20cc to 450cc, and is based on an LPG carburetor.
The carburetor is installed inbetween the air filter and the intake manifold, like the traditional gasoline carburetor. Three models are suggested: a kit for handheld contraptions, such as trimmers, fueled by 1-lb cylinders; walk-behind mowers; and free-standing equipment such as generators connected to cylinders.
The ENERKIT Basic carburetor provides pressure reduction through a two-stage regulator to stabilize and ENERKIT Basic ENERKIT Plus vaporize the liquid gas, and adjusts pressure to Ievels required by the engine. A shut-off valve stops fuel supply when the engine is off, and a gas vacuum stage works in tandem with the shut-off valve. A cam and bayonet throttle system opens and closes fuel flow mechanically according to acceleration.
The ENERKIT Plus line converts 250cc to 850cc four-stroke engines, such as on forklifts, railing mowers, and industrial sweepers. Cavagna has developed two configurations: dedicated and bi-fuel. The dedicated system, for installation by original equipment manufacturers only, integrates the functions of gas supply in the LPG mixer, eliminating the carburetor and fuel tank. The bi-fuel configuration, primarily for aftermarket conversions, uses a traditional gas mixer inserted inbetween the air filter and the gasoline carburetor.
ENERKIT Plus is available in vaporphase and Iiquid-phase withdrawal.
As noted, Cavagna’s Fiat five hundred Abarth, converted by the company’s autogas playmate Bigas International Autogas Systems (Calenzano, Italy), will be making a come back engagement in Atlanta this year. The sporty subcompact recently won the very first race of the Italian Alternative Energy Championship in Primiero and San Martino di Castrozza, Italy, which took the vehicle about one hundred seventy five miles over snowy mess roads. The vehicle also won nine special time trials.
The Cavagna-Bigas Abarth also won the 2nd edition of the Tesla Rally in Serbia, the fifth race of the Alternative Energy World Championship.
The feisty Fiat five hundred bested an Alfa Mito and a Toyota Prius. Bigas International produces components and accomplish LPG and CNG automotive systems. The company is UNI EN ISO nine thousand one certified.
Cavagna and Bigas, a global autogas equipment provider, last year formed a strategic partnership in order to consolidate their presence in the autornative industry. Cavagna’s strategic partnership with France-based Siraga, a designer, manufacturer, and installer of equipment for automated packing, refurbishing, treating, and palletizing LPG cylinders, will also be highlighted at the Atlanta convention. Signed late last year, the partnership was aimed at optimizing each companies’ product offerings to the market and creating a business structure to treat the entire supply chain of LPG, both for domestic and industrial use-from equipment to retail stations and service.
The agreement covers sales and marketing in the selected markets of North America, South America, the Middle East, and the Far East. Cavagna Group supplies packing goes and fresh products developed by Siraga’s research and development department, while Cavagna’s applications in residential, industrial, medical, commercial, and alternative fuel markets are open to Siraga. The aim of the partnership was to optimize time, costs, and contracts, enlargening the groups’ global competitiveness and market reach. “Both companies’ products are well matched and create a strong, combined selection of favorable elements for our customers,” said Eric Batise, Siraga general manager. “Together, they can suggest broader accessibility and better coordination among equipment, accessories, and services to the worldwide gas business.”
Added Davide Cavagna, Cavagna Group CEO, “When a partnership inbetween two well-known companies is able to produce such tangible results, that means an improvement of both organizations’ picture and credibility. We are proud to add Siraga’s products …. “
Cavagna North America’s Darche observed that while his company is aggressively pursuing strategic partnerships to broaden its market reach, it remains focused on promoting its regulators and utter range of ASME and DOT valves. Meantime, the Siraga alliance permits it to reach out to marketers seeking to automate their cylinder exchange operations, and to those incorporating autogas into their company profile with Bigas technology offerings.
“Cavagna is absolutely focused on coming up with alternative-fuel products,” he said.
“We are a very progressive company that welcomes fresh ideas and innovations, and we are in this business for the lang pull, with an eye Ten, 15, twenty years down the road. Our planning isn’t just about what is good for our company, but what is good for the propane industry.”

Converted cars and alternative fuels: Italian utter speed ahead!
– Brescia, March 25, two thousand fourteen – A special CNG converted FIAT five hundred Abarth, tooled with the rear and front conversion kits made respectively by Cavagna Group – the Italian world leading manufacturer of equipment and fittings for compressed gases, gas storage and control – and by Bigas – the Italian company which designs and develops alternative fuel components and systems – has just raced for the Italian Ecomotori Racing Team in the “15e Rallye Monte-Carlo des Energies Nouvelles”, the very first race of the FIA Alternative Energy Cup 2014. In the ranking of regularity (the only one that gives points for the World Championship), Massimo Liverani, driver of Ecomotori Racing Team, on FIAT five hundred Abarth tooled with CNG Bigas/Cavagna System, placed 2nd and the car won the combined consumption/regularity classification of the combustion engine category.
Thanks to its agility and reliability, this Cavagna-Bigas converted FIAT five hundred Abarth had already won the Championship in two thousand twelve and 2013. Many years have passed by since the time in which converted cars were slow and less powerful. This good success proves that a “new-conception of converted cars” can have an excellent spectacle.
And, in fact, for several years now car manufacturers have been participating in sporting competitions with gas models (CNG and LPG) and they have suggested cars powered by these alternative fuels.
As far as internal characteristics, CNG is the one of cheapest and greenest fuel.
Comparing with traditional gasoline, the savings with CNG is about 50-60%, in terms of consumption CNG is 70% less, while in terms of fatigued gases it is 52% less. Those numbers, among other considerations, emphasize how much CNG fuel is a excellent benefit to the environment as well.
At last, Italian Institutions are going strongly in the green–eco direction, supporting and promoting the use of alternative fuels in favor of a more ecological mobility.
For this reason, car taxes for green-powered vehicles have been diminished and even eliminated in some Italian Regions. And an inter-ministerial decree will introduce the natural gas supply in self-service mode. In parallel, during these last fifteen years, the CNG cars has tripled: there were 260,000 in one thousand nine hundred ninety seven and there are approximately 750,000 today.
At the same time, the natural gas distributors have enlargened in number: in February, there were over one thousand (European record ), and there will be further enlargening in the coming months.
On this trend, at the official Ecorally Team taking off, in front of the fresh Lombardy Region Headquarters, in Milan, the Region President, Roberto Maroni has stressed the Institutions’ commitment toward alternative fuel and green mobility. “ For this reason, car taxes for green-powered vehicles have been eliminated in Lombardy”, he has commented. A real kicking off point, indeed!

The very first EcoRally race endorsed by the president of Lombardy
The president of Lombardy , Roberto Maroni partecipated at the EcoRally opening for the Monte Carlo Race, underlining the importance of the use of alternative energies in everyday mobility.
