Interior
An executive saloon is largely about the practice of being a passenger inwards – and in this department, the seven Series produces, in spades.
Luxurious doesn’t even begin to cover it. Beautiful Nappa leather comes as standard, enveloping seats that you can just submerge into. The seats also have a rubdown function, while the passengers at the back have an array of rear-seat entertainment options, including screens and a removable tablet controller.
There’s also an Executive Lounge Seating option, which folds the backrest of the front passenger seat to suggest the rear passenger more legroom, finish with an electrically operated fold-out footrest. This is the way to travel.

There’s a range of twin-turbo six-cylinder engines (740 petrol units and seven hundred thirty diesels) that are more efficient than ever, with BMW claiming that their influence on the environment has been diminished by 25%, compared to the previous generation.
Indeed, the seven Series also has plug-in hybrid options, the four-cylinder 740e and 740Le xDrive (with four-wheel drive) that comeback up to 134.5mpg and emit just 49g/km – despite an output of 322bhp – and an electric-only range of twenty five miles.
