1st Sharjah Sports Desert Festival

Held under the slogan “Become a Desert Hero”, the festival will feature a series of competition races across three vehicle classes, namely, Quad bikes, also called Buggy. Each category will feature a series of races such as the ‘Enduro Knockout’ challenge, the Side X Side vehicle category who will contest in the ‘Time Trail’ challenge, and ultimately, the MX1 and MX2 racers who will take on the ‘Enduro Knockout’ challenge.

SSDF two thousand seventeen will also feature an array of fun-filled activities and entertainment contests for all family members and non-competing visitors. People of all ages will be treated to tours on desert bikes from Al Badayer to Mleiha, artistic shows, and more.

Designing 007: fifty years of Bond Style

14 Nov two thousand sixteen – fourteen February 2017, Burj Khalifa ANNEX

Not stringently a car event, but there will be info on the legendary Bond cars!

Burj Khalifa is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the launch of the James Bond franchise with an array of dazzling exhibitions and practices titled ‘Designing 007: Fifty Years of Bond Style.’

The exhibition at Burj Khalifa ANNEX will present the design and style of James Bond and the craft behind the sets, the music, gadgets, vehicles, technology and style over the course of five decades.

Since its successful debut at the Barbican Centre, London, in 2012, ‘Designing 007’ has been exhibited in Toronto, Shanghai, Melbourne, Moscow, Rotterdam, Madrid, Mexico City and Paris. The 50th anniversary edition marks the debut of the exhibit for the Middle East, with items including Scaramanga’s Golden Gun from The Man with the Golden Gun and Daniel Craig’s wardrobe from Casino Royale, the Spectre Aston Martin DB10 and more on display. At ‘Designing 007: Fifty Years of Bond Style’ screen icons, costumes, production design, automobiles, gadgets, special effects, graphic design, exotic locations, weapons, stunts and props combine to immerse the audience in the creation and development of Bond style over its 50-year history.

Involves five hundred cars that will be departing Dubai Autodrome (15 cars at a time at 10-minute intervals) from 1pm and driving in convoy to IMG Worlds of Venture car park. All cars are expected to be there by 4pm.

At IMG Worlds car park, two thousand five hundred balloons will be released to mark the UAE National Day Celebrations and the cars will be forming the UAE flag. The event will close at 6pm.

2nd season of City OverDrive at CityWalk Dubai is a 10-day motor festival, from fourteen to twenty three April, which will showcase a raft of infrequent custom-built cars by UAE-based auto-artists, as well as vintage models and super cars that have never been driven on the UAE roads. Free entry.

Gulf Car Festival

‘GCF2016 is geared up to attract participation from about three hundred show-cars each day; the entire three-day gig will provide a infrequent platform for around eight hundred of region’s best cars to be seen together at one place.

Drift Allstars kicks off the two thousand sixteen GP season at the Yas Marina Circuit, UAE. Ten international drivers from across the globe will touch down at the Yas Marina circuit in the Unitied Arab Emirates on April 7-8th to do battle under the lights against the best drivers in the Middle East for the opening round of honors of the two thousand sixteen Drift Allstars GP Series.

Ahmed Alamri of the UAE will be fighting for the National pride as the reigning Drift UAE Champ, he will be defending his home country’s honor. Ali Makhseed, rising Kuwaiti superstar will be leading the charge from the North of the region after early season wins. Along with a man that some say is one of the thickest starlets of the season, Ahmad Daham, he is one of the most successful drivers from Jordan and will want to step it up and take his chance to battle the big names. Abudhadi Alqatani will be leading the force from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Hometown Heroes Sultan Al Qassimi and Khalifa Al Nahyan will also be carrying hometown honor as they both make there two thousand sixteen International debuts on the World Stage.There Team mate and World famous DJ resident from Dubai Dany Neville will also be joining list of GCC drivers looking to battle the best from Drift Allstars

The Act kicks off at Eighteen.00 on both Thursday 7th and Friday 8th of April. An extensive retail village and entertainment area will be run on the Oasis of the North Stand. For the very first time the SBH Auto Collection will be on display with twenty different car clubs will coming together to showcase their vehicles in the restrains of the North Stand. Live music and entertainment will keep the fans on the edge of their toes over the duration off the activity packed two days.

Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge

2-7 April, Yas Marina Circuit & Liwa, Abu Dhabi

26th edition of the annual stamina rally will take place 1-7 April this year featuring one hundred sixty six competitors from thirty six countries. The Desert Challenge is the 2nd round of the two thousand sixteen FIA World Cup for Cross Country Rallies and the opening round of this year’s FIM Cross Country Rallies World Championship.

Big names taking part include Nasser Al Attiyah, Mikko Hirvonen, and last year’s winner Vladimir Vasilyev.

Special spectator stages will be at Yas Marina Circuit on two April, then the rally relocates to the Liwa desert, returning to the Yas for a ceremonial finish at Four:30pm on Thursday seven April.

8th Emirates Classic Car Festival

The eight th Emirates Classic Car Festival, held in collaboration with the Automobile Touring Club of the United Arab Emirates (ATCUAE) and the UAE Ministry of Culture, Youth & Community Development. Set in a family edutainment ambience, the Festival this year will not only showcase cars, trucks and motorbikes that date back as early as 1916, but will also feature a photography exhibition, live restoration sessions and special movie screenings.

Cars will then head to the track at 12:30 for familiarization and briefing.Please ensure you make it by no later than 12:15 to ensure your registration is confirmed and have enough time to head to the track. Drift Republic – DRIFT OFF!

The Drift Republic Team have been racking our brains to come up with something fresh and arousing for the drift community.

We thought about drifting in a competitive and safe way… what we came up with is

There will be two identical drift tracks running side by side. Drivers will be able to drift the track and see how they fair against their friends. Its not a race but then again if you both truly drifted the track, the driver who finished very first very likely drifted at a higher speed.

Drift Republic is a grassroots community which means beginners are welcome! Basic instructions will be given at the driver briefing but you can always ask for help. Members are available to help beginners learn the basics or to help advance you to a higher level.

Volunteers to help set up the track are ALWAYS welcome and needed to grow our drift community so if you are interested in helping, please message us.

All RWD cars are welcome to join us, whether stock or modified, with the exception of 4x4s and SUVs.

The cost per car will be AED200 if you attend the pre-event social and AED250 at the event.

Please don’t leave behind that helmets are compulsory, check out our rules and regulations.
