FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Three teenagers are in custody after they led police on a pursue Monday afternoon in Broward County, authorities said.

Two suspects, both 15, were arrested Monday after bailing out of a stolen SUV in Lauderhill and running through the back yards of homes in the area, police said.

A third suspect, 15, was arrested early Tuesday after his mother witnessed her son on the news and turned him in to Lighthouse Point police.

Police said the third teenage is cooperating with detectives, who are still searching for one more person.

During an arraignment for the suspects Tuesday afternoon, the courtroom had to be cleared after people who came to the hearing in support of one of the teenagers became unruly.

Local ten News reporter Terrell Forney was at the courthouse and said that the defendant began to curse and kick, causing others to become unruly as well. Authorities said six juveniles were arrested after extra Broward sheriff’s deputies moved in to treat the crowd.

Two of the kids were found to be in direct contempt of court and ordered to be held in juvenile detention for five days. The other four people were permitted to leave the courthouse.

One of the suspects in the original case has been ordered to stay on home detention with a GPS ankle monitor. He is required to attend school Monday-Friday and is not permitted to have contact with the other defendants.

According to detectives, the suspects stole a Hyundai Sonata from Martin County and drove to Lighthouse Point to break into more vehicles.

Sky ten was above the pursue Monday as Broward Sheriff’s Office and Florida Highway Patrol helicopters followed the car south on Interstate ninety five before it exited and pulled over at the Cambridge Apartments, three thousand eight hundred forty one NW 21st St., in Lauderdale Lakes.

Two of the passengers fled on foot while the driver and another man got out of the Hyundai Sonata and leaped into a blue SUV.

Sky ten was above the scene just before six p.m. as the dudes got out of the SUV at four thousand four hundred sixty one NW 22nd St. in Lauderhill and fled on foot.

The suspects ran in different directions, both hiding in the back yards of nearby homes before being taken into custody.

Lauderhill police said the driver was arrested by a Fort Lauderdale police officer who was assisting, and the passenger was eventually arrested by a Lauderhill police officer with the assistance of a K-9 unit.

Police said one of the suspects was taken to Plantation General Hospital to be treated for an unknown injury.
