2016 nanoFlowcell QUANTiNO – AWD EV Aims Squarely at BMW i3 via Revolutionary Battery Tech
NanoFlowcell is the stunning startup attempting to make energy from ordinary salt water. A revolutionary fresh battery chemistry is at the heart of the hard’s products to date. Cars like the super-exotic Quant F — a four-seater with gorgeous gullwing doors opening the entire bodyside. Looking like a spread Porsche nine hundred eighteen Spyder, the main quant prototype is still a stunner.
But what about production feasibility? FOr that, the plan has evolved into this slick electrified hatchback. A premium model aimed right at the BMW i3, the QUANTiNO majors on realistic goals. Four electrified motors — one at each corner — share around 125-horsepower equivalent, with a range of about two hundred fifty miles (we estimate).
It will be all about eco-chic for the considered production run: appealing to a stylish urban commuter who values luxury and exclusivity alongside the latest green tech.
The production-ready model is taunted in yellow below — and is virtually identical to the blue concept.

nanoFlowcell AG: QUANTiNO débuts as the very first production-ready low-voltage electrical vehicle tooled with the nanoFlowcell® powertrain
As the very first street-legal low-voltage EV of the QUANT series, the QUANTiNO with nanoFlowcell® powertrain is premiering in its “near standard” configuration at the two thousand sixteen Geneva International Motor Showcase. Following further pre-production tests during the very first half of 2016, nanoFlowcell AG is now considering a small-batch production run.
Schaan/Lichtenstein, two February two thousand sixteen – nanoFlowcell AG has announced it will be at this year’s Geneva International Motor Demonstrate presenting the development progress achieved with its QUANT range of models and their nanoFlowcell® powertrain technology. The nanoFlowcell AG exhibition stand in Hall one will be showcasing not just the QUANT E but also and especially the QUANT F Evolution sports model – reconfigured to near-production standard – and the freshly developed city sports model QUANTiNO.
Commencing its career as a mere concept vehicle in 2015, the QUANTiNO has been fully revised.
Featuring the nanoFlowcell® powertrain integral to its credentials as a low-voltage car, this model heralds the next generation of electrified vehicles. Rated at just forty eight volts and with an output of eighty kW / one hundred nine HPmetric split inbetween four electrified motors, the all-wheel drive QUANTiNO represents a significant improvement on the one-fill, one-charge range achievable with electrified vehicles. As in the case of the QUANT FE, production of the modular-designed QUANTiNO in a small-batch run is essentially possible, with a feasibility examine due this year to provide the basis for the final decision.

Meet the youngest member of the QUANT family: the fresh QUANTiNO. An innovative electrical vehicle for the mass market, powered by nanoFlowcell®. A sporty and dynamic car, the stand-out feature is undoubtedly the low-voltage drivetrain. Even at only forty eight volts rated voltage, a combination of nanoFlowcell®, buffer system, and four electrical motors generates four x twenty five kW/136 HP, providing the QUANTiNO a top speed of more than two hundred km/h. With two 175-liter tanks, the QUANTiNO has a range of over 1,000 kilometers, fully electrified and without harmful emissions. Trio.91 meters long, the little Two+2-seat brother of the QUANT E and QUANT F appeals with its unique design and the striking detail of 22-inch wheels that literally make it stand out in its class. If there is one.
The QUANT FE is a thoroughbred sports car with a coupé-ish Two+Two design, whose nanoFlowcell® powertrain aligns flawlessly with its sporty DNA. The eight hundred one kW (1090 HPmetric) in its veins accelerates this electrical street racer from zero to one hundred km/h (approx. 62.Five mph) in a fleeting Two.8 seconds. What’s more, the energy needed for this kind of oomph is produced by the onboard power plant in a sustainable and toxicologically totally harmless process. The E in the name QUANT FE stands for Evolution, indicating the advanced state of development of the vehicle to near-series maturity. In particular, the interior of the QUANT FE has been fully redesigned with a keen eye on the homologation requirements.
Established towards the end of 2013, nanoFlowcell AG is an innovative research and development company headquartered in Lichtenstein. The concentrate of the research work performed by nanoFlowcell AG is on flow cell powertrain systems. Aside from further developing its QUANT range of vehicles, the company is also investigating possible applications of its nanoFlowcell® technology in other sectors and industries. To this end, two companies were founded in 2014, nanoProduction GmbH and nanoResearch SA, both wholly wielded subsidiaries of nanoFlowcell AG.
